Happy Thirsty Thursday!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a doctors appointment this afternoon. Fingers crossed that things are happening 😉 Last night was rough. We got our car seats inspected, which was fine. Then when we got home I was EXTREMELY crampy.

I am either a wuss or am going to have no idea what labor is because this was pretty bad.

Not extremely debilitating, but I couldn’t move from the couch all night in a fetal position. not to mention she decided to roll onto my sciatic nerve.

I feel a lot better today, just getting twinges here and there.

Oh well.

This was my last full week of work. I told some clients that next week is a maybe depending on my status. I don’t want to start taking off work if she’s not going to be here for another 2 weeks…I will go crazy. On the other hand, I am not feeling myself so it’s a tough call. My mom is convinced she is coming this weekend, I am not getting my hopes up. Most first pregnancies go late… hopefully not me though! I will be looking into lots of reflexology for next week. I had a massage and had her do some this week so hopefully it moves things along!!!

Nutrition Tip of the Day:

Pasta. It’s so easy to over eat it. Portion sizes are small. If you or family members tend to take a heaping serving of pasta try adding a TON of roasted veggies to the mix. Layer veggies, a portion or pasta then more veggies. It will fill you up and you will eat more of the good stuff 🙂

Have a wonderful day!

xxoo

Oooh the Thirsty Thursday recipe sounds great! Agreed on the pasta… I’m a ‘volume eater’ (a nice way of saying I like to eat LOTS!) so my pasta dishes are usually about 1 part pasta to 3 parts veg!

Yum mangos!! I remember the first time trying mangos..it was in Hawaii and they were PICKLED! They pickle just about everything there, and I had to try mangos. 😉

I have been eating ridiculous amounts of mangoes lately. I LOVE them so much!!! I love summer actually because of all the fruit I get to eat! 🙂
You are feeling really crampy??! I had that for a few days before I went inot labor! So…once again………………………………………………………………………….

By the power of the Mo I predict you will go into labor soon. *labor vibes…labor vibes…labor vibes* From one uterus to another yo. hahaha Really though, Im sure you can not thank me ENOUGH for all of this go into labor energy, right?! In seriousness though, I DID have cramping more than usual about 2 days before. So I think sooner than later chica!!!!!!!

I DOOOO appreciate all the labor vibes!!!! Between your vibes, some reflexology, workout out, squats I hope she comes SOON! The doc said I was 80% effaced already so I am hoping that is a good sign things are moving along!! And you having cramping 2 days before….hmmm…I won’t get my hopes up but sounds promising! XO

Sorry to hear you had a rough night! Don’t feel like you are a wimp or that labor is going to be terribly painful just because you were in pain last night! The pain of labor is far different than that of pregnancy or anything else for that matter! Your body goes into this balanced hormonal state that allows you to deal with labor pain better than other times you are in pain! Plus, it’s sooooo much different when there is a clear end in sight! Once you are in labor, it’s like a marathon or grueling spin class, you know the end is coming soon and if you can visualize being done…..it’s so much easier to get through ~especially when your reward is this little pink bundle of precious baby!!!! Hope things go well!

Thanks, Jessica! That was very helpful…I like your analogy! Like a grueling workout you know you’re almost through!

    Hey Laury!
I saw mangos on sale at the grocery store the other day but couldn’t think of what to make. Next time I am going to grab ’em now that I have your recipes!!
Can you give us advice to how to determine which mango to purchase? What does a ripe mango feel like? A spoiled one? What about color?

    Thanks!

I’ll bet you are enjoying those mangos! I saw that they had quite a bit this weekend…figured they’d go on sale soon. I have to say that no matter how many times I’ve tried mango, its just not my thing and, in fact, it’s a member of the cashew family (so it’s on my avoid list) along with pistachios. Go figure.

Take it one day at a time and definitely do what you feel you need to do to be comfortable. Sending you much love!

That’s so interesting about mangoes! Go figure is right! You are lucky you don’t care for them though, if that were the case with me I would be very upset! Especially as of late
