Welcome Home….

Hi everyone! How was your weekend? Ours was fantastic. We had a lot going on, lots of fun stuff.

It’s been pretty cooooold. I can’t complain since it’s really been a mild winter so far. We’re just not used to it! I did something I never, ever do….

I wanted something “fun” but not with tons of sugar. I wanted something “sugar-free” but without all the artificial stuff. I asked about the chai tea lattes…now remember, I am clueless. I asked if I could have what I just described and he said no. But, he told me he could do a Tazo Chai Tea and add steamed soymilk. So, he did and I added my own cinnamon and nutmeg to the top, no sweetener, and it was delicious….and only $2.50! Brilliant! It was called a Chai Tea Soy Misto. I am sure it’s nothing new to you guys, but it was new to me! I thought I’d share for any of your Starbucks virgins or infrequent goers that you CAN get something “fun” and healthy that isn’t just plain black tea or coffee Smile

I grabbed one of those on Saturday on our way over to wish a very warm welcome back to someone special. My cousins husband just got back from deployment on Christmas night; they have been apart since right after their wedding and now he is home with her, finally. We are all so happy that is is home safe and so grateful for what he has done. I can’t even begin to imagine how difficult it has been for them being away from one another for so long.

Jackie had a difficult time getting Craig out of the house in the morning, but eventually she conned him into going to the “dog park” as we all waited for him at the firehouse…

Ella was nice and bundled…she had a great time! Here’s my mom and my grandmother

So relaxed and cozy that she fell asleep…

This amazing group of veterans called “Warriors Watch” came out to welcome Craig home. I think it is just amazing and so touching to see this group of veterans come and take time out of there day to show gratitude to soldiers coming home from the war.

“We have your backs at home”

The news came to get an interview..

Then the fire truck escorted him to his house where everyone met…

My cousin is a school teacher and she had her students sign this banner for Craig…

That night, Jackie surprised him yet again when she planned for a bunch of his friends (some from out of town) and family meet out.

leave it to me to have to fix my hair and leave it to Michael to keep clicking away…

Mike and I are going to rent “Money Ball” tonight. My stomach has been a mess all day….I got some sort of bug…it’s annoying too because I’m hungry. Anyway hope to get part 2 of the body image after baby series up this week. I still have to get back to some of your comments..which I have been so incredibly humbled by! Thank you again!

It looks like Craig got an amazing welcome home! So nice to hear of families being reunited after such a long time apart! yay for that!

Thanks for sharing your Starbucks adventure. I don’t drink coffee really, but I do love chai teas! Rinaldo & I actually went to get coffee Sunday night and he ended up getting a chai tea latte and I went for a regular decaf cinnamon hot tea. Didn’t want all the sugar they normally come with. Thanks for your idea now! 😉

I didn’t know a lot about SB either. I always got iced green tea but one morning I wanted something hot so I asked if I could get a chai tea latte unsweetened & they said they could just make it with tea bags & add the nonfat milk. I’m hooked now!

What a great tribute and get together! Ella looks super cute all bundled up and snuggly!
I am clueless in starbucks. I don’t like plain coffee much, especially the bold kinds that s’bux has, but I don’t know how to order any fun stuff (well, now I do!)… I want fun drinks that aren’t sugar laden, but like you, I have no idea what is what in there!

So glad your cousin’s husband is home safe. Every time I hear about a military family, I dunno how they do it!

I never go to Starbucks either, but I’ll have to remember that when I’m near one next time. Sounds good!

Ella looks so cute and cozy all bundled up, I just want to kiss those cheeks!

Hope your stomach is doing better by today!
