The Friday Five 11/17/17

Hey, there!

I am LOVING all the #BitchesBeGrateful posts on Instagram this week! Thanks to everyone participating, and I can’t wait to see who our winners end up being!

Today I am telling you about some amazing companies I’ve been loving lately. I haven’t done a product post in a while because I wanted to test some new things out for a while before talking about them here.

  1. Care/Of Vitamins

Honestly I am not really a vitamin person. I take a probiotic now and then, but rely more on eating fermented foods.

Lately, though, I feel like it has been tougher to get everything I need from food. Care/Of reached out to do a collaboration on Instagram and I usually pass on supplement companies but their website and concept sounded amazing.

Care/Of is a very affordable customized vitamin pack

First, you go to their website and fill out a questionnaire. After that, they put together a customized pack for you based off the answers you gave. Not only that, they provide studies on each supplement!

I took them for an entire month, and felt amazing. It was a nice addition to the other holistic things I do such as using essential oils, drinking broth, and fermented foods daily (among other things).

If you use the code LAURY at checkout you will get 50% off you first order! How great is that!? A few of my followers told me they got a month for around $16! Get started here!

Care/of is built on HONESTY and QUALITY … two things I value greatly! I’ve been recommending them to my entire family and my friends because I am blown away with how easy and great they are!

One bottle of vitamins can cost around $40 … and you get a whole month of FIVE different supplements, for a variety of needs, for around $30 (half-off with my coupon code “LAURY”  though!). It’s easy, efficient, and it works!

They are also very transparent about allergies and other dietary needs, which is a major plus!

2. Grateful Plate Meal Delivery

After years of working with nutrition clients, the thing I think people need most is support.

You can provide information until you are blue in the face, but without support, some just don’t stick to a healthy lifestyle.

This is why I try to empower my clients to get in their kitchen more to meal prep, but it isn’t always easy. Trust me, I get it! I don’t cook every night of the week, while I wish I did, it just isn’t always feasible.

Grateful plate is a Philadelphia-based healthy meal delivery service, chef prepared, and they have options like Paleo, vegan, and even Whole-30 compliant meals!

I tried out a couple of the meals and it was delicious. Even my very picky husband loved it. The food comes fully cooked, with specific instructions on how to reheat. You even get a fancy insulated bag with your delivery.

Not only that, they are doing a lot of good in the community, which makes me love them even more. Recently, Grateful Plate partnered with  Nigel Bradham of the Philadelphia Eagles and Northern Children’s Services to host a Thanksgiving Meal Share. Grateful Plate will be preparing and delivering fully prepared Thanksgiving dinner and turkey to six families that Northern Children’s Services supports in a variety of ways. These families are all struggling, and at the same time are doing an incredible job trying to bring stability and a bright future to the lives of their children.

Check out that full story here and stay tuned for a potential collaboration we are doing in January where you can win a gift card to try out their healthy meal service for yourself!

3. Farmhouse Culture Gut Shots

Have you tried this yet???!! It may sound gross but it is SO good. I am not even kidding you. My daughter loves drinking pickle juice, and I always thought it was kind of nasty (but it as healthy for her so I’d need yuck her yum as she would say). This tastes like pickle juice, because well it is, but there’s something different about it. You only take a shot of it a day, and it provides you with a bunch of good bacteria for your gut! If you haven’t read my post on the importance of fermented foods, check it out!

Also, there’s no bullshit ingredients. No preservatives or any other crap, it is all good stuff.

They have all these other neat flavors also. If you an find it (my Whole Foods carries it), stock up because it sells out quick!

4. Bumkins Reusable Snack Bags

Okay, even if you don’t have kids these are AWESOME! Bumkins are these adorable reusable snack bags to help you use less plastic and reduce waste.

The eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic baggies, snack bags are made from the same easy-wipe waterproof fabric as Bumkins award-winning SuperBibs. A smooth zipper closure holds crumbs in and single ply construction means no worrying about icky stuff growing between layers of fabric. Great for food or fun, snack bags help organize lunches, toys, electronics and more! Machine washable and dishwasher-safe (top rack) for easy cleaning.

I am LOVING them!

5. Healthy Skin Tea

I have posted about ACV before, as well as traditional medicinal teas.

Bragg’s organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar with the “mother,” is what you want (which is strands of proteins, enzymes and friendly bacteria). Don’t be grossed out, it’s good stuff. There are loads of benefits to including this, mostly for gut health, but it is also amazing for your skin! I add a Tablespoon to my rose hip tea (which is also wonderful for healthy skin) every day!

Have an amazing weekend, everyone! Hope to see you over on Instagram + IG stories!
