“Where to start….although I have not been ” perfect” with the detox, I’ve made huge strides in how I eat. I read labels like I’ve never done before! I’ve learned so much about how to eat healthier and I’m loving it! I have not craved chocolate, rice, potatoes, ice cream or any type of bread! I’ve realized my weakness is cakes/cookies and can’t forget wine!!!! I feel like a whole new world has opened up to me. I feel better, I’ve lost about 7 pounds! The group is a place of encouragement and education without judging when you make a mistake or have a slip up. We post questions about food and recipes. When I see what others are making in the kitchen, it inspires me to get in the kitchen and make good food! The moderators are on hand 24/7 for help. Laury is an incredibly useful tool in this journey. She answers questions in a timely fashion. The information is quick and to the point.”

“I would say that this experience has changed my life for sure. This was something that I never thought I could do, and now I don’t think there is a chance that I will go back to how I ate 30-days ago. I don’t think I COULD, my taste buds and habits have changed. I have such a better understanding of how food can work for or against your body. This experience has shown me how delicious real food really is. I now eat a cut up delicious red pepper instead of a bag of pretzels. Just looking at pasta and bread makes me feel bloated. “I have learned so much over the past 30 days. I don’t touch anything without reading a label first, constantly reading articles to get more info and what to eat/not to eat. I love trying all the new recipes too. Still working on getting my kids on board, but I’ll get there. I’m surprised that I don’t miss breads and pasta as much as I do… but I definitely could go for a latte every now and then. As someone who probably never went a day in my LIFE without eating processed carbs until this detox, I was very skeptical. I did not think I would be able to do it! “Freevive has taught me, in just 2 weeks, that this way of eating and living is my new way of life because I LOVE it!! The biggest thing for me that I noticed when this began was the change in how I shop.

That is my favorite part. First, I barely leave the produce/meat/health section at the store. Second, I look at labels, but not the calorie chart. I go straight to the ingredients, because that’s what’s important.

I feel knowledgeable and confident, and I no longer feel intimidated by stores like Whole Foods.”

“I feel a lot better. I never realized that I felt bloated until I stopped sugar altogether. I lost 7 pounds so far. I sleep deeper and I feel light and airy. I realized that heavy carbs and sugars weigh me down physically and emotionally. I needed to break the cycle and I have. I don’t need bread as much as I thought. Sandwiches wrapped in lettuce are much better anyway!”

“I’ve always eaten healthy…but I’ve also restricted myself from any sugar. Instead, I’d put stevia in everything from smoothies, to plain yogurt, etc. Because of all stevia, I think my taste buds craved sweet stuff. Also, because I restricted myself, I would not be able to eat a small piece of chocolate or a couple m&ms. I’d eat the whole bar or keep going back for more. I felt out of control because I could not stop eating whatever it was… I couldn’t even control myself with honey! I now feel empowered because I now appreciate the natural sweetness in foods. I am eating about one serving of fruit a day and I find it so sweet. I’m also enjoying the sweetness of sweet potatoes, coconut, cinnamon, and plain yogurt! I walk by the m&ms everyday at work now and I don’t even think about them anymore! I plan to keep stevia out of my diet for the long haul as well as other natural sugars like honey. It’s like a drug for me and no matter how hard I try to eat sugar in moderation, I fail! One of the biggest things I learned is not to beat myself up if I “cheat.” I had a glass of wine today, and then moved on and did not worry that I blew the entire detox. You guys are awesome and I think the biggest contributor to everyone’s success has been this amazing, supportive forum!!”
