Today I mustered up the courage to send an email out to 800 of my old Fitness Dish subscribers announcing my new blog. I’ll be honest, I still have a lump in my chest and a knot in my stomach about it. I’ve been working on this new space for months (years really when I think about all the content I’ve written), and it just makes me feel so exposed putting myself back out there as … well … me! There is no name to “hide” behind this time, it is just my name.
It’s done and nothing exploded. If you are here now reading, thank you!
All I can say is I really needed that 6am yoga class this morning, and plan a 10 minute meditation if Jaxon is still napping when this post is finished!
In my Golden Milk recipe blog I talked about my favorite mug (pictured above) that a yoga student had given me. I love it so much and asked Mary if she could share her website since I’ve gotten so many compliments on it! It just so happens that her shop, Baby Cake Lane is donating 15% of profits for this month to The Water Project — providing safe, clean water in communities where people may otherwise not survive.
From their website:
The water crisis is real. It’s affecting women, children, families and farmers. Women and girls in sub-Saharan Africa are spending hours a day fetching dirty water which leads to illness and disease, robbing entire communities of their futures. Lack of access to safe water and proper sanitation limits education and food production, it harms health and leads to a cycle of poverty. We want to help our neighbors and we know you do too. When you support The Water Project, you help bring clean water through new wells, rehabbed wells, sand dams, rainwater catchment systems and/or spring protections to schools, medical clinics and villages. We believe local in-country solutions, through local national leaders, can help end the water crisis one partnership at a time.
There is a lot of negativity and anger happening all around us right now, so any small thing we can do to spread more love I am all for. Thank you, Mary for doing some good! Check out her shop and let me know which mug is your favorite! I think I need “Straight Outta Savasana” next!
