Munchkin and I are waiting to fill ^the room with a delivery for this…
In the meantime, I will be doing some nesting…laundry and kitchen cleaning. I am hoping they get here soon so I can get some cardio in at the gym.
I am hearing more and more clients, friend, etc say this so I have go back to an old fitness wisdom today, but an important one:
Fitness Tip of the day: Fat Vs. Muscle – We hear it all the time… “I’m working out less and my muscle is turning into fat!” This is one of the biggest myths in weight training. Muscle and fat are completely different types of tissue and can’t magically be changed. Muscle shrinks (atrophy) when not stimulated, so your muscles may seem softer. Compounding the problem, most people don’t lower their calorie intake to match their now lower energy needs. The result is less muscle mass and extra calories being stored as fat which creates a shift in your body composition.
MOVE OF THE DAY:
It’s been a while since I’ve given you one of these. Now that I am fantasizing about getting back into my old workout routine, I am thinking about some of my favorite moves. Here’s one of them:
Primary Muscle Group: Full Body
Muscle Groups Worked in This Exercise: Full Body, Triceps
Preparation: Get into the reverse press up position as pictured
Breathing: Breath in and out normally through the entire exercise movement.
Execution: Walk around on your hands and feet. Excellent for tricep endurance.
