Munchkin and I are waiting to fill ^the room  with a delivery for this…

Then, my genius brother, CJ just has to come and put it all together for me :/

In the meantime, I will be doing some nesting…laundry and kitchen cleaning. I am hoping they get here soon so I can get some cardio in at the gym.


Fitness Tip:

I am hearing more and more clients, friend, etc say this so I have go back to an old fitness wisdom today, but an important one:

Fitness Tip of the day: Fat Vs. Muscle – We hear it all the time… “I’m working out less and my muscle is turning into fat!” This is one of the biggest myths in weight training. Muscle and fat are completely different types of tissue and can’t magically be changed. Muscle shrinks (atrophy) when not stimulated, so your muscles may seem softer. Compounding the problem, most people don’t lower their calorie intake to match their now lower energy needs. The result is less muscle mass and extra calories being stored as fat which creates a shift in your body composition.


It’s been a while since I’ve given you one of these. Now that I am fantasizing about getting back into my old workout routine, I am thinking about some of my favorite moves.  Here’s one of them:

Crab Walk

Primary Muscle Group: Full Body

Muscle Groups Worked in This Exercise: Full Body, Triceps

Preparation: Get into the reverse press up position as pictured

Breathing: Breath in and out normally through the entire exercise movement.

Execution: Walk around on your hands and feet. Excellent for tricep endurance.

    Have you ever done the squat walk?

    Its so much harder than it looks and Im SURE you are way ahead of me on workoout moves. hahahaha but just thought of it when I saw the crab walk. And love to act like I had an awesome idea. lol They both look way easier to do than they really.are.
    Ok, totally made my day to see my soup on here! THANK YOU so much for always supporting me and my blog! <3 <3 <3 Honestly, this really was sooooooooo good! I was very happy with the turnout.       Thanks, girl! Can’t wait to see it all put together! After this delivery and my shower we have SO MUCH work to do putting things together!

      Love the squat walk..but you do know something cool because I’ve only done it, and had clients do it laterally. Need to try it going forward..thanks!

      You got it about the soup. I am going to try it. Michael hates black beans but tonight’s his night with his mom for dinner, so I will make up a batch for me! He LOVES split pea soup though so I am looking forward to that recipe. He will finally eat one of Mo’s vegan dishes 🙂

    Geeze Laury I thought you were going to announce the arrival of your baby girl!!! I was waiting for the second picture to be of you walking through those french doors with her in your arms. Hmmm, I’m guessing that was on purpose — well you got me good!

    I love your nursery cot and the nursing/ feeding seat is very elegant. The glass doors are perfect too, the nursery is all coming together. Great choices you’ve made for the furniture, love it. Great too for mentioning muscle being different to fat, I think a lot of people think muscle will turn to fat if they don’t use it. Hope you’re having a good week!

    Yea people thinking muscle and fat are interchangeable. Such a common misconception! just have to keep spreading the word!

    Little Miss Ella is going to have one stylish room!

    I love the crab walk photos. I remember having to do that in elementary school and having to play “crab soccer” that way. Thinking back on it now I wonder if the teachers did that just because I’m sure all those kids doing that had to look pretty funny 🙂

    I haven’t done the crab walk in SO long, probably high school when we had game day with all sorts of different competitions! Its a workout for sure!

    I remember the crab walk from elementary school gym class. Its funny how the most basic things we did as 8 year old are the best!

    I hate when people say that about muscle and fat!! It is such a pet peeve of mine. I’m teaching physiology next year and my one goal is to get them to learn that! Aim high, right? 😉

    Crab walking is so much fun! I remember doing that in Kindergarten in the Gym! 😀 Who would think childs play would be such a great fitness move!? 😉
