Procrastination & Bling

Hey there!

I just wanted to pop in and say hey. It’s been a few days since I posted! Right now I am cramming a few more credits to recertify.

CEC

I work best under pressure. I only have 0.6 [out of 2.0] more to go. I actually love continuing ed–learning and keeping up with the latest fitness education. I am just a huge procrastinator. I’d blame it on the baby but it’s really not a valid excuse.

Anyway…my next post is one many of you have been asking me about and waiting for. It’s all about my post-baby weight loss [and breastfeeding].

I hope everyone had a great weekend! This is the first time I’ve been on the computer since like Friday morning? I love staying away for a few days-{although I do cheat via my iPhone}.

We had just the most amazing weekend:

My little brother got engaged!!!!!!!!!!

the photo doesn’t do her ring justice!

I am BEYOND excited for him and my future sister in law! She is an amazing girl! My whole family just adores her– myself included.

My brother is my best friend and he asked me to help him pick out the ring a few weeks ago. Only a select few of us knew about the proposal and it was so hard keeping the secret! That and nerve wracking how we were holding on to the rings at our house. Of course they were insured but it was still a huge responsibility!

We were all counting down the hours!!! It happened on Friday afternoon—she had NO idea! I was super impressed my brother was able to keep this in surprise for 3 weeks. If you knew him you would know he has no poker face whatsoever. I was impressed!

Anyway, we went out all weekend celebrating. We took the baby down my moms restaurant, where Meagan also works and they met up to show off and surprise everyone. Then Saturday my mom babysat and we went out with some friends to celebrate some more.

my future sissy!

The cutest part was how Robbie reenacted the proposal for his Fiancés kids this morning. He bought a beautiful ring for her 4 year old daughter so she could be like her mom! So sweet!

Oh, he also got them both gift certificates for manicures on Valentines Day because he thought Meg would want her nails done after she got the ring. We didn’t even tell him to do that!

We raised him right Winking smile

Okay…so really I just wanted to stop in a brag for a second!

I better finish my test and stop procrastinating !!!

talk to me:

Tell me something fun about our weekend?

Are you a procrastinator {like me} or were you one of those kids that did their homework like a week before the teacher even handed it out?

See you next time with how I got my sexy back. Peace out.

xo

Wow, getting her daughter an engagement ring is the sweetest thing ever! What a way to show her kid your commitment to both her and her mom, that’s beautiful!
Andrew once told me about a guy he knew who was dating a woman who already had a little boy. The kid was having a hard time warming up to the guy because he had seen his mom break up with so many guys before. At one point, the kid made the guy a finger painting. Later, to show the boy, his commitment and to show him he was serious about staying in the relationship and take care of them, the guy got the finger-painting the kid had made for him tattooed on his arm. Talk about long-term commitment! I thought that was so cute!
Hope you had a good weekend 🙂

Yes, he’s such an amazing guy!!!

That’s such a sweet story. I can’t believe he got it tattooed on him! That is a commitment indeed! I love it though! My brother and I were little when my mom married my step-dad. I was 6 and he was 2. Almost the same ages as his now fiances kids. Funny how things come full circle almost! He is so in love them too!

Hope you had a nice weekend, Chantal!

    Damnnit, he’s officially off the market…..sigh 🙁

Happy for them though, that’s really sweet about the ring for her daughter–nice rings btw!!

I do things ahead of ime and if not, I freak out. I get a little anxious knowing something hasn’t been done that’s supposed to be due soon, it’s the only thing I’m anal about!

Yes, that would be obvious! Unless he got you manicures like once a week for a year. I was lucky, I did my own nails that day–I had no idea, but I was so glad I came in from the pool to paint my nails. I thought we were going out to dinner!

oh my goodness! what a sweet story! i love the idea about getting her daughter a ring too! he is so thoughtful!! thats will be something she remembers forever!

i am also a huge procrastinator. if i have something due like a wekk away, no matter how hard i try to get it done early, i literally cannot do it until its the night before, and then, man! the magic REALLY happens! i come up with amazing things i tell you! things that would never come to me if i still had a few more days till my deadline, haha.

i went to foxwoods casino this weekend to see our favorite commedian ever, Bill Burr. He is hilarious- almost as hilarious as some of the outfits i saw on girls at the casino, haha. but even better than that trip, today my husband and i are leaving for our honeymoon! while we dreamt of vacationing somewhere tropical, the prices of EVERYTHING skyrocket the week of school vacation and both being teachers we cant take off whenever we want, so were doing the polar opposite of our original plan..maine. all i can say is , heated bathroom floor, jacuzzi, and shower with 8 shower jets. im all set haha!

Aw, congrats to your brother! How exciting…and how cute about the ring for her daughter and the mani gift certificate!

I’m the same way with continuing ed….to the point where I usually let it expire, and then I have to scramble to get credits and pay extra fees to have the cert reinstated. I wish I wouldn’t do that!!!

I had a low key weekend, and it was nice. This week is winter break for the kids, so I get extra time with matthew–we’re having a play date today, and he’s staying over night tomorrow…work can wait!!!

Thanks, Lisa! I am glad to hear I’m not the only one who’s done that! I totally have had to pay fees over the years because I am such a procrastinator!

Aw, have fun with Matthew! <3

Mazeltov to your Brother! You looked gorge in the pic with your sis-in-law…:) So….YES – I am a procrastinator – Ihere is what I have done to help myself – I didn’t make any new years resolutions this year – but what I am telling myself is “something is better than nothing…” – what this translates to for me now is if I do something towards a goal then I tend to say …”damn girl – just do it! “…and it’s working for me….

      Thank you, Natasha! So sweet!!!!

I am not a goal setter either, where I write it down and check in etc. I am the same where I just say–do it! Stop making excuses! And I get it done.
