Peaches N’ Cream Green Smoothie

Happy Thirsty Thursday!!!

Can you believe how FAST the weeks are flying by?

I was going to put out my “Second Trimester” pregnancy post today, but I figured I would give you all a break on pregnancy, since that was my theme all week. Look for it Monday or Tuesday though! Besides, last night I wanted to chill and watch Idol. I surprisingly really like the judges this year. I do miss Simon, I loved him. However, I love Steven Tyler (random fact: my first concert was in 7th grade, 2nd row, Get A Grip Tour, I stood on a chair, Steven sung to me!) Was never a fan of J Lo too much, but this show has made me like her much more. I am not in love with any of the contestants though. Michael and I were HUGE JC fans. HUGE. When he got cut in Hollywood we were very disappointed. We haven’t loved anyone as much since 🙁

JC–come back next year…PLEASE!

Yesterday I got in another decent workout. I was looking at myself in the mirror at the gym and could not BELIEVE how GINORMOUS I have gotten (my belly). It’s insane! Michael and I were talking the other night and he suggested I start taking pics every 2 weeks now, since she is growing so rapidly these days! Meaning, I will have updated pics next week! I was officially 33 weeks yesterday! Home Stretch 🙂

Yesterdays Workout:

2.5 Miles on Precor

Standing Cable Flies x10

Dips x12

^Superset 3 sets total

Seated Chest Press x15

Seated Pec Deck Fly x12

^Superset, 3 sets total

Overhead Rope Triceps Extension x15

Triceps Cable Press Down x12

^Superset, 3 sets total

Followed by a cool down with full body stretching

I said yesterday how I have been craving a lot of fresh things lately. Cooler, fresh foods. I am just about sick of warming foods. Still like all food though 😉 Michael cracks up when I come home and confess trying EVERY sample in Whole Foods. I usually go there right after my workout, at lunchtime, so I am usually starving. The samples tie me over 😉

I was in the frozen aisle getting more of my Wheat Grass shots and some Brown Rice Wraps and these caught my eye:

They made me daydream about summer. Warm weather. The fact that we set our clocks forward this weekend for SPRING!

So, I decided that I would create a yummy post-workout smoothie when I got home……

**I decided to use a fancy cocktail cup in honor of Mardi Gras 🙂

1 cup frozen Peaches (I used a half bag of the ones I showed)

1 frozen banana, frozen in chunks

1 small head Hearts of Romaine

1  1/4 Cups Unsweetened Vanilla Tempt Hemp Milk

1 T Chia Seeds

3 T Vanilla Sun Warrior Protein

A few ice cubes (optional, if you use all the frozen fruit)

Throw it all into your blender and enjoy! SO GOOD! Try It!

Are you all as much ready for smoothie cocktails and fresh summer cooling foods as much as I am???

What are you toasting me with for Thirsty Thursday?

Our washing machine broke AGAIN for the 6th time since we’ve had it. Piece of ____. Extended warranty has come in SUPER handy. I am stuck home today waiting around for the repair man to call. Good thing Thursdays are a light day. I plan to maybe do some Zumba or something from home (as long as dude isn’t here). Supposed to be a pretty rainy, gloomy day anyway. Hope you all enjoy your day!! Talk to you lata, gata’s!

Simon Cowell is kind of hot even if he does wear high waisted trousers. You guys are going to be getting the show X Factor soon. You’ll love it, it’s way better than Idol. I think everyone here watches X Factor when it was on, it’s addictive.

That smoothie looks wonderful. My smoothie addiction at the moment is almond milk, sun warrior choc protein, ice and peanut butter (I bet you guessed there would be some peanut butter in there). Yum yum.

Rapidly growing belly = Ella’s almost here! YAY!! Peach smoothies always remind me of spring! I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so I don’t have to chug a cup of hot tea right after drinking a cold smoothie!

You actually just reminded me that I have a big bag of frozen peaches (that I cut up in the summer) sitting in my freezer. I totally forgot about them! This smoothie sounds delicious and I could totally use a little peachiness in my life right now!

Wait, you haven’t been drinking smoothies all winter long, like I have? 😉

I am not a huge fan of frozen peaches. Maybe its the brands I’ve had, but they just don’t taste right. Like they maybe get frozen unripe? NOTHING beats a fresh, super ripe peach though!

Nope, too cooling for my body all winter long. I was juicing a lot and smoothies sometimes.

These were good. I know what you mean about frozen fruit…sometimes they don’t taste right, but these looked fresh!

So I didn’t get the vitamix, I got the Jack La Lanne power juicer instead bc the vitamix just aint in our budget right now (going to hawaii soon and all…I would materialistically rather buy new clothes for the trip lol). Anyway, so we’ve since been starting our days with the beet, apple, pear, carrot, juice combo (we stick the juice in the blender after and add back some of the pulp, ice and a banana). SO delicious and leaves me feeling super energized. We tried juicing the beet leaves but didn’t get much out of em. We are pretty happy with it but I know what you mean now about all that pulp! What did you do with yours? Any creative ways to use it? Maybe you could write a post about that if you have’t already!

Good stuff! Yey! You can use the pulp to make breads, slaw, etc. I have seen people make crackers too, looks simple (juice pulp and ground flaxseed in a 2:1 ratio, and spices/seasonings they dehydrate but sure you can bake at a low temp)

Now that my dumb juicers motors broken, I will have no pulp to work with, grrr…I need a new one! I love having a juicer and a vitamix. I haven’t bought clothes in like 2 years because of my appliance addiction, lol.

Wow, that does look good! I’ve been wanting cooler stuff, but then the temp keep dropping…

I’ve never thrown romaine into my blender…does it fully break down? Do you taste it with the peaches?

I feel like you’re opening up a new smoothie door for me here! 🙂

The lucky thing for me, is my body heat keep rising…well, good and bad. But it’s good if I want a smoothie 😉

Yes, it fully breaks down in the Vitamix, I love it. I like rotating the greens…romaine is also really good with cucumbers and kiwi (once they are in season) or romaine, cucumber, apples and a little lemon…refreshing! I don’t taste the romaine in a bad way. I think it’s yummy!

I wasnt around yesterday to see your post yesterday. Gonna go check it out in a sec.:) I like Steven Tyler also. Simon was just one of a kind though.
Just wait, the belly gets ridiculous. People would say “WOA…are you having twins?” and I was like “what the? um…NO.. And I still have 5 more weeks!” Just gets huge and looks like it cant possibly budge or grow even a milimeter more. lol
I love the smoothie idea! its making me crave summer food, fruit, smoothies, salads… I am such a summer girl when it comes to food usually.
Hmmm…thirsty thirsday for Miss Laury from Auntie mo mo… Brazil nut milk (1 cup soaked brazil nuts, 4 cups water, belnd in Vitamix, strain through cheesecloth, add vanilla extract, 1 date, pinch salt, and tbsp. raw coconut oil, blend) then add in blender…1 cup premade brazil nut milk, 1 cup of fresh or frozen mangoes, handful of pineapple fresh or frozen,1/2 banana little ice and some fresh basil. or mint. 🙂
Sending my love to the east siiiiiiiiiiiiiiide.

Yummy, that soothie looks so good :). I haven’t tried romaine in any of mine, I’ll have to give it a try. I generally just stick to spinach. I’ve been stuck on a nice tropical tasting smoothie that makes me think of summer (I live in Florida, there’s really no need to think of summer… but still). I use frozen pineapple and mango pieces, peeled and chopped apple, sometimes a frozen banana, then I add spinach, some orange juice, a little almond or hemp milk and a splash of lemon juice. I love tangy smoothies and this one is just perfect!

I LOVE PEACHES!! White peaches are by far my favorite. My papa had several peach trees, and all summer long I would be eating like 3 peaches a day. I miss those days!! He sold that house, so no more fruit trees for me 🙁
