No Afikoman For Ella

Hey Everyone!

So today is tax day, and it’s also the beginning of Passover (tonight). My mother in law has been busting her toosh to put out an amazing dinner for tonight. So far, Ella will not be wearing her Passover bib that my girlfriend Blair got for her.

She has 8 days to get this show on the road if she wants to sport it.

Tomorrow is my official last day of work. I saw 1 client this morning, and I did a great job of hiding just how crampy and uncomfortable I was. I now look at crampy and uncomfortable as a positive thing since my doc said it’s doing something. Last appointment I was 80% effaced, and she says that all the cramping means Ella is getting ready. I see 2 more clients early tomorrow morning then it’s officially maternity leave. Ella better come soon because I can’t just sit around doing nothing for 2 more weeks. No income, and time on my hands to spend money…not a good scenario.

Breakfast this morning was a delicious one:

1/2 Cup Oats

1 Cup Water

1 T Peanut Butter

1 Scoop Chocolate Amazing Grass Powder

1 T Chia Seeds

1 t Maca Powder

1/2 Banana

Splash of Unsweetened Chocolate Almond Milk

Boil water, cook oats, add peanut butter right after it’s finished cooking to get it all melty and gooey, add rest of the ingredients, stir and enjoy!

After training my client, although I was crampy I wanted to go over to the gym and work through it on the elliptical. I got in 30 minutes and did some stretching and was wiped. All I wanted to do was come home, blast out a post, and lye down.

Does Ella look ready to go??

I don’t think my stomach looks quite as dramatic in the cell phone pics.

lunch was multigrain tabouli and 4 vegan dumplings:

I have a few things to do this afternoon around the house. I plan to fit in a nap also very soon. Michal yelled at me last night that I BETTER get everything together for the hospital. I have my bag packed for the most part, the problem is a lot of the things I will need i use all the time, so we will need to throw them in. He’s like “you better make me a list because you will not be in the mindset of remembering everything! I put all the stuff from the bathroom in a large zip lock bag, so I can still use them everyday, but he can just grab it when we are leaving. Most importantly, my make-up bags are in there too. I made him a couple lists so far, and need to re-check my bag to see what else I need to add to it:

We also have our “Munchkin” directions to finish.

Then, I will be leaving him detailed instruction, and all the ingredients/ utensils to make me my breakfast when I am there overnight. This should be interesting ๐Ÿ˜‰

I can’t wait to see his VOO.

Enjoy the rest of your day! I am off to rest and then get some things done before Passover dinner tonight.

Keep the Ella birthday guesses coming on my Friday post ๐Ÿ™‚

I should have the 3rd trimester post up in the couple days! Almost finished ๐Ÿ™‚

What was the highlight of your weekend?

I found mine was VERY boring. There is NOTHING on TV, I am pretty much out of books, and after I cleaned out cabinets and such, wore myself out and had no choice but to lye on the couch I was going out of my mind. What can I do when I can only sit and lye? Drives me crazy ๐Ÿ˜‰

Moms, what key things should I make sure I have prepared for the hospital? The stuff no one tells you about?

do you have a chap stick sort of lip balm? lips get dry from not having anything other than ice chips and panting a lot.also another thing that I liked was an object to concentrate on to put on the wall or sit on a shelf in front of you when breathing through contractions.
You will do great! So excited to see your little one soon :o)

I do have chapstick…but think I need something like more glossy, but a chapstick glossy, not lip gloss? My lips are dry now and my chapstick isn’t doing much so I can only imagine once I am panting ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks for the tip on a focal point…I will pack a pic of Munchkin ๐Ÿ˜€

I hope she gets to wear that bib!

I don’t celebrate Passover (yet), but I definitely knew it was here due to the sudden unavailability of my boyfriend and some of my school faculty.

Lists are wonderful… I forget too much when I don’t make them. =D

You are such a rockstar for getting in 30 minutes on the elliptical when you’re pregnant and crampy! Seriously, I think about you when I don’t feel like working out! ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s been so long that I don’t even remember what I packed in my hospital bag! lol

Laury I love the belly shot — you look fantastic!

The directions for Michael are hilarious — I’m sure I’ll be doing the same thing.

Highlight of my weekend — hanging out with my sister Kim on Saturday and watching tons of movies all day long.

I love that you left him directions to make you oats. That’s serious business and bad oats at the beginning of one’s day is not something you want to take chances with, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well bring a VARIETY of reading materials to read during labor. Epi or Not, you will be in a who knows WHAT mood. Fitness. Cooking. Babies. Home and Garden. A Mystery Novel. A Romance. I was SO excited to workout sans bebe in belly, that I was reading fitness magazines AT THE BEGINNING. But then I wanted to read something mellow. Teach your husband how to put your hair in a pony tail IF you have an IV. It is HARD to do your hair with an IV. Am I just preaching? Sorry. You look fab! I can’t wait!!!

Hi Laury, just wanted to say Happy Passover – who knows, it might be the seder celebration that motivates Ella to come on out, nothing like a good Jewish get-together!
Actually since its ’tis the season’, do you have any good Passover-related recipes, or fun matzoh inventions?
Oh and your bump looks so cute and so heavy – like a workout weight in itself!

Hey Georgia! Happy Passover to you too! Unfortunately I have not yet created any healthy Passover recipes..but I plan on trying some for next year! My mother in law does all the cooking. I usually end up eating a bunch of starches since it’s usually brisket and matzoh ball soup (in chicken broth) and I don’t eat that anymore. My mother in law usually makes veggie latkes for me…here’s a recipe that looks really good for zucchini latkes:

LOVE the VOO instructions!! I would do the same for my hubby too..the kitchen is not his domain lol!

Love your workout top! I think you are so awesome for working out so near the end. High Five to you!!

I have not given birth so I have no clue what to pack!! I’m sure you’ll get some great suggestions on here though!!

camera, video camera (make sure the batteries are fully charged), chap stick (a MUST), comfy clothes, depending if you are getting an epidural you should bring stuff to do if you are getting an epi and if you aren’t, things to get you through labor… everything else the hospial pretty much has… ohhh some of your fave soap/shampoo to take a nice long hot shower afterwards which will feel soooo good!

That’s so awesome you’re working out until the end – and you look like one fit hot mama – so cute!! Are the workout pants you’re wearing in the pic special maternity workout pants? I’ve wondered if I’ll need special maternity ones or if the ones I have will stretch?! ๐Ÿ™‚

    April 19, 2011 at 7:48 pm

Thanks! Nope, I never bought maternity exercise pants…mine just stretched! The only maternity I needed were jeans. I bought lots of long tanks from H&M and they lasted too! Luckily I work at a job where I can wear stretch pants and tanks…I saved a lot of $ on maternity ๐Ÿ˜‰

That’s awesome!! Well thankfully for me attire at my office job is pretty low-key so when the time comes I can at least wear leggings with sweaters and dresses…And thank god for whoever invented leggings! ๐Ÿ™‚
Thanks for your response and as you mentioned today, I can’t wait to hear about your plans and progress back to your pre baby body – I’d love to learn some tips from a pro! ๐Ÿ™‚
