Hey! You guys miss me?

Sorry I’ve been so MIA. We had a wonderful weekend… so busy!

Friday night we had Michael’s company Holiday party. It was a great time! Aunt Carly babysat Miss Weezus for the night and they had a blast together!

Saturday is when I woke up with no voice. I was guessing it was from being a chatty Cathy at the party but from how I feel today, I think it was something else lingering.

We did some more Christmas/Hanukkah shopping in the afternoon on Saturday then we had dinner for my mother in laws “milestone” birthday!

Sunday morning I fought with myself to go to power yoga. I went and I was so happy I did. Later in the afternoon Ella and I had a 3rd birthday party for my brothers girlfriends adorable son. Weezy was the life of the party. ALL of the kids wanted to hold her and be on top of her and drew her pictures that said “Baby Ella” on them. SO cute.

Today I still feel really crappy and I think I will take the day off from exercise and let my body and whatever I have going on in my throat get better. I will be sipping on lots of tea and drinking my Emergen-C today. I hate being sick. I am NOT a good patient.

It’s okay…at least I have my new iPhone to preoccupy me 😉

Pros and cons to the iPhone…

Pro’s:

I LOVE the apps…Siri…and the fast internet [<—compared to the slow blackberry]

When we were on our way to the restaurant Saturday night we hit all this horrible traffic on 76. It looked like it was backed up for miles. I asked Siri how long until we get to the restaurant with the current traffic and she said approximately 15 minutes. Guess what? With the traffic it took 15 minutes exactly! I was so impressed.

-I like the task and the note pad since my brain is far from sharp these days. I can now keep all my notes and to-do lists in one spot as opposed to forgetting where I put my to-do list, starting a new one and forgetting like 10 things I need to do.

Cons:

My emails come through like HOURS later? On my blackberry they all came through right away, it seems like my iPhone doesn’t alert me to emails and I will get ones from 2:30 in the afternoon at like 7pm at night? Is there any way to fix this?

The keyboard: I miss my blackberry keyboard even though it was tiny. I guess the touch screen will just take getting used to.

-There are SO many things I just haven’t figured out how to do yet…or that I am just not used to. I mean, I had trouble figuring out how to find a name in my phone book to call at first.

My blackberry went a little crazy after deactivating it. I can’t get into my calendar which is BAD. I need my client appointments! I was able to get in there for like a second, but it kept freezing up and updating and turning off. Anyone have this issue with their blackberry? I may need to find the USB cord so i can upload my appointments on the computer. Eek!

Apps I am loving:

Instagram:

I am trying to not be annoying with it by uploading like 5,000 photos a day of my cat and my Weezus. Is there a way to filter a photo without it posting publicly? I like just playing around with them, but like i said, don’t want to be a pain 😉

Word with Friends:

Michael downloaded this one and has been stealing my phone, starting games with random people but now I am obsessed with it also.

Pandora:

It will be nice to listen to this while working out.

Key Ring:

I liked scanning all my loyalty cards and having them in one place! They also show current offers each store is having…love!

My Net Diary:

I am not into counting calories (for many reasons) but I like this app! I like entering my activity and being able to see the nutrition info on recipes I develop. I have also been curious, while nursing, if I am eating enough. One of my male clients who has had a lot of success working with a dietician and entering his data on his iPhone always tells me how I probably don’t eat a lot of calories because I eat such a volume of low calorie foods. It’s a good way to track water, sugar intake and keep everything for OPBB in one spot. But really an excuse to use another app on my phone 😉

Alarm Clock Ap:

It ‘s free and my brother in law told me about it so I downloaded it. My mom warned me that the alarm clock on the iPhone can get messed up so I will use this one as a back-up.

Flashlight:

This one is great for when I have to get up in the middle of the night, or if our power goes out.

That’s all I have so far. I plan on looking into some of your suggestions also when I get a chance!

Michael is NOT getting an iPhone he decided. After seeing my email delays and the keyboard he thinks for work (since he’s on the road a lot) it’s best to stick with blackberry. The new one is supposed to be the best one yet. Now that I have an iPhone and we are together most of the time he figures if we need any of those functions we can just use my phone for it.

Okay…I have some things to get done around here before I go to work. Hope everyone has a great day!

xo

That’s odd that your emails are so slow to come through. Is your Wifi switched on or off? I find mine come through faster when I’m not connected to wifi, but sometimes it depends on the building I’m in.
Also.. I think you need the Pinterest app!! 🙂

Laury, your hair is gorgeous! Just wanted to let you know how great you look. 🙂

I have yet to take the plunge with the iPhone. I’m thinking about it, but AT&T is just so much more expensive than TMobile. And honestly, I like the google phone…so I haven’t yet decided what I’m going to do. All my friends really love it, but they’ve noticed that the iPhone has some problems with Google applications like the calendar and such.

I love the name of the title 🙂

I would get the iphone for the key ring app alone! I hate lugging around all the random cards on my keyring and most I dont even use! I definitely want instagram as well because of Lincoln but I’m surprised that the emails dont come in right away. I am due for an upgrade but am trying to stick with my blackberry as long as I can for financial reasons!

Thanks for the likes on apps – I just downloaded key ring! That sounds very convenient. I’m still waiting for my new iPhone to arrive. I have a 3GS from 2009, which survived a 20 minute pond submerge situation, but it has lots of kinks now and I really, really, really want a new one!

You will love Siri…when she’s not being dumb….in which then she will tell you that she “respects you”
