Handsome Boy

Thanks so much for all of your amazing comments on my Third Trimester post. πŸ™‚ You are all the best! I can’t wait to share my birth story and my journey back to pre-baby body (or what I can get back of it). I am already thinking about my post-Ella workouts. I may have to do a lot at home so I was looking over my inventory.

I am officially 39 Weeks today! Crazy!

Here’s the update I just got from Baby Center:

Hi Laury!

Your baby’s waiting to greet the world! She continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it’s likely she already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.

Let’s talk about my baby who is enjoying his last week(s) of being an only child πŸ˜‰

A good spot for him (as Michael & I would say)

how handsome is he???

It’s GORGEOUS out right now so I opened the windows for him….his favorite thing. I plan to go for a long walk shortly. I need a break from the gym and every person in there asking me when I am due, what I am having, wow can’t believe you’re still coming here, etc, etc, etc. It’s all nice, but sometimes I just want to workout and not chat. Having a huge basketball under your workout tank makes people compelled to converse with you, no matter if you have the headphones on and “the zone” look on your face.

So cute when he wrestles his kick-a-roo. Check out the back feet:

lounging on my glider…I don’t mind:

NOT good spots for him:

Ella’s changing table..I had to cover it with a receiving blanket because he has taken a liking to it:

if we never know where he is anymore…it’s most likely he’s in the crib. Michael and IΒ  always says “going to check on the baby!” Poor thing is in for a rude awakening soon. He needs to find a new favorite spot.

I even filled the crib up with stuff, but he still nuzzled his way in.

Since Ella wasn’t here for Passover dinner I told Munchkin he could wear her bib for a little. He was rubbing his head on it and lying on it like he wanted it. True Story.

He’s been extra affectionate lately…I find him on my belly or lying next to my belly early in the morning purring his head off. It’s SO cute. Yesterday he fell asleep on my lay with his paw on my belly for an hour. My leg was asleep but he was too cute to move. Once Ella is here I am going to be working double time just to make sure I give him all the attention he needs in the moments she isn’t needing me! Michael already knows that he is on Munchkin attention duty for the most part too.

Hahaha….now that you all think I am crazy I am off to go take a long walk…

then make one of these:

then get a prenatal massage with lots of pressure point therapyΒ  and reflexology to maybe move things along πŸ˜‰

Today was going to be my first day of maternity leave but I was bored just thinking about it so I emailed 2 of my clients I didn’t get to see last week (they were on vaca) about working out tonight. So I see them and 1 person tomorrow morning then it’s no more work for me!

Enjoy your day!

My cat also claims territory as her own… even the dog’s bed. The picture of him in a bib is SO cute.

Oh Munchkin is a handsome boy! And I’m sure he is going to love Ella. Jason’s brother + wife have 2 little dogs, and when their daughter was born they were worried about how they’d all interact. The dogs are so protective of her and you can tell they just love her to pieces. It is so sweet.

He seems to be loving that bib, which is adorable! Sweet little Munchkin πŸ™‚

My best friend is pregnant and also due very soon like you and she said that her two cats have been very very affectionate to her lately also. Maybe they have some special cat sense and are all just trying to get as much love as they can before things change!

Hi, I just started following your blog last week. I noticed your crib has the changing table attached. What made you go with this style? My husband and I have been drawn to those, but since they seem to be newer and different we’re not quite sold on it, though it seems like a huge space saver. We’ve also thought about buying a matching dresser and placing the changing pad on top of that.
Also, I’m glad to see you’ve been so active during your pregnancy. I’m still going to the gym quite frequently and I’m at 21 weeks. I’m starting to get a lot of strange looks in the weight room now that my belly is showing.

      Hi Jen!

Our nursery was our den/office and it’s not a very big space so that’s what had me sold on that crib. HUGE space saver and actually more economical than buying a crib, changing table and dresser. This also has drawers and shelves! I have one other small dresser with drawers, that was a side table in my house. Then my bookcase that I stacked with different wicker and cloth lined boxes.

Yes, the weird looks only get weird as your belly gets bigger πŸ˜‰

      Congrats on your pregnancy!

I’m definitely looking forward to your birth story post and your journey back to pre-baby body ones as well! Can’t wait! πŸ™‚

I think you should get him a new bed, something that you can put on a table or something else off the ground (so it kinda feels like he’s in the crib) and put it in the window in your room or in front of the patio doors. I would put one of Ella’s receiving blankets that he’s been laying with in it too. Then, CLOSE THE NURSERY DOOR!!!
If you don’t do something soon, I’m afraid you’re going to have your hands full with this poor little guy!!! Love you Munchkin, but we gotta find you a new sleeping spot!

Have a great long walk. My mom claimed a strong caesar salad brought on labour for her! So eat some serious garlic and who knows what will happen lol:)

Aww Munchkin is the cutest thing ever. My boyfriend’s sister is due in July/Aug and she has this adorable kitty named Boots who has taken residence in the baby’s soon to be room. They had to move the scratching post and everything to start decorating. Pets are definitely like an extra child!! I’m sure Ella will love a little furry companion πŸ˜€

I love the kick-a-roo my male cat loves it. Do you have one of those cat window perchs my cats love theres, and it doubles as a place to nap! i hear spicy food helps kick start labor, and my best friend was 2 weeks over due with her 2nd and her boyfriends mom told them to have sex and sure enough her water broke at 3am, so it worked!

Oh, Munchy, you are going to be in for a rude awakening really soon but I am sure you will get the same amount of love and attention even though you may be woken up in the middle night by Ella πŸ™‚ I love that Munchkin is being all lovey, that is sweet. That is how Lincoln is but all the time….sans purring of course! He is very needy and needs to know that he is loved. So whipped for this dog, I tell you.

When i had my eldest we had cats. We had to end up getting rid of them cause they took a liking to sleeping in the crib/cradle with him and trying to sleep on his head. Apparently that isn’t uncommon and i’ve run into a few other stories as well.

Hope yours doesn’t do the same, we couldn’t get our to stop πŸ™ I miss them πŸ™ *sobs*

Luckily we have doors on the nursery and plan to keep them shut when she’s asleep and we are not around.
