Golden Milk Smoothie Recipe

After teaching my 9:45am class this morning I ran into Giant to grab an RX bar before my 11:15am private client. As I jogged in the door I slipped on some water, my feet completely feel from under me and I landed pretty hard on my right side.

My hip and right hand slammed on the ground as my feet flew out to the left.

Damn.

I got up and brushed it off, but about 10 minutes into my client’s session, my arm, shoulder, and neck started aching.

My client gave me some ice  after I told her why I felt achy (I have been seeing her consistently since 2003!), finished that session, saw my second private, by that time I was feeling pretty gnarly, and went home to my Jaxy and Willie (who I knew would want to play as soon as I got there).

I’ve been icing up, and slathering Panaway essential oil all over, which is a really amazing essential oil blend for muscle support that I got in my starter kit by Young Living (here’s is my EO info on where and why I use what I do).

I am hoping that I am not really too injured, and can avoid the doctor (I will see how I feel in a couple of days).

This is the same shoulder I fell on when I fell down my stairs 4 years ago.

It’s had a rough go.

The other thing I am going to try and do if eat more anti-inflammatory foods in lieu of taking medication.

I posted my Golden Milk Recipe a few months ago … it is so delicious, nourishing, comforting.

However, it has been getting pretty humid here … and I needed a little protein since it was lunchtime … and I have a TON of turmeric paste to use up … so why not make my warming golden milk into a cooling smoothie?!

I added frozen cauliflower to this instead of greens … it was great! Another way to get veggies into your diet, and use your Trader Joe’s riced cauliflower 😉

The pineapple added the perfect amount of sweetness, and a half of frozen banana is always a staple in my frozen drinks for the creaminess it creates!

Another key ingredient to help my body heal … collagen hydrolysate!

Collagen, one of most abundant protein in our bodies, is found in muscles, bones, skin, blood vessels, digestive system and tendons.

It is known as the “glue” that helps hold the body together when it comes to tendons and joints.

Between this, the powerful anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric and ginger, and all of the other amazing ingredients in this smoothie … I am nourishing my body as much as I can to support healing.

If I am still hurting, there may be more I need to do (as far as seeing a specialist) … but let’s just hope I get a nice bruise and feel as good as new by the end of the week.

By the way, have you heard about the GMO pink pineapple? I was talking about it over on my Instagram last week … head on over to add to the discussion, I would love to hear your thoughts!

Please let me know if you try this recipe … I am hoping some rest, a few of these, and lots of ice will calm my shoulder pain down (praying it is just muscular and no real injury).

Fingers crossed!
