Friday 5 ~ Workout of the Week 11/11/11

Happy 11/11/11!!!!

Make a wish πŸ™‚

Perform a dynamic warm-up for 10 minutes. Challenge yourself with the following circuit of 5 exercises with minimal rest between.

 

1. Burpee Push-Up Hop [beginners try knee push ups to plank, advanced regular push-ups or 1 leg]-perform 5 total

 

2. Walking Side Squat [advanced place a resistance band under your feet] –perform 15 each way

 

3. Power Jax -as many as you can for 1 minute

 

4. Seated Bicycle Crunch -20 forward and 20 backwards [40 crunches total]

 

5. The Ab Rower -as many as you can for 1 minute

 

Run through this circuit once, twice or as many as you can handle! Git at it!! Always cool down and stretch from head to toe when complete! Foam rolling is a plus!

As far as yesterdays post I was very disappointed that none of my readers “got ” the lotion joke. Apparently I am either bad at subtly or none of you have those annoying kiasks at your mall. Every single mall I have ever been to I have been harassed every time I walk by to take a sample…then “CAN I ASK YOU A QUESTION??” [Seriously I’ve had it happen at like 5 different malls] I never say yes. MyΒ  sister did once. It was bad news. Mild hand groping, possible entrapment [conspiracy!] and $120. hand lotion and cuticle care products wereΒ  involved. I am seriously intrigued as to what the “question” that they want to ask me. I am even more afraid to give in though. I was hoping one of you knew the answer.

    Hahahaha i stared at the lotion thing yesterday and couldn’t figure out why i recognized it lol i got suckered into buying the face lotion a few years ago and it kept my skin moisturized all winter (which is a rarity in jersey winters!!!) I think i got it either from the Cherry Hill or Moorestown Mall. I also got suckered into buying a straightener which also works amazingly and my friend got one and returned the chi she had just bought since it worked so much better:) They can be obnoxious but some of the products really work. That being said, you will never find me buying anything from the fairy wing kiosk;);)

      Hahaha…omg…that straightener is NO JOKE! I have seen them straightening girls with this gorgeous super tight THICK curly hair and it was straighter than MY hair when they were through. Nuts!!!

    Hahaha….I had no idea what you were talking about, ok I get it know (I’m slow sometimes…). Around here, the mall kiosks don’t do that, but when I lived in Boston, it happened a lot. I tend to just put my blinders on and keep walking!
    Love the workout moves…I’m about to go meet with the client, and I’m definitely throwing in some burpee-push-up combos!
    My fave new (or at least something I haven’t done in a while) workout move is swing lunges! They’re no joke πŸ™‚

    No worries, I got the lotion thing! They do that in the mall that is closest to my house and it drives me craaaazy. I just ignore them and try to avoid walking past their booths at all costs!

    I guess I just totally skipped over the lotion joke… But yes all our malls in California do the same thing. I always say no for me and whoever else is with me. That would be a rough job to have!

    Love the burpee push-up hop! Totally a killer! My workouts haven’t been stellar these past couple weeks, but I’m going to get back in action next week!

    Sorry I didn’t catch the joke about the lotion. I was so out of if yesterday! lol Opps!

    no one ever asked me that before?! i guess i look like im not into lotions? or something lol. my favorite move lately is the frog burpee. i feel like a kid when i do them ha. omg laury you look amazing! your butt looks so good! what shorts are you wearing? i love them!

      idkkkkk, Melissa! You need to go walk around KOP a few times they are on every floor! That or they had someone already suckered in when you walked by πŸ˜‰

      I am wearing Champion shorts from Target! Thanks for the compliment…it’s all those HIIT tooshie workouts with lunges I guess πŸ˜‰

    Burpees never get easier, I find any exercise where I have to jump to the ground tough for some reason. Mountain climbers are hard too. Have been blasting the cardio. I think when the competition is over, I’m going to give my body a rest and do lots of stretching, shorter weight workouts and nice walks.
