Happy Thirsty Thursday!!!!

I am SO happy to hear that I’m not the only hand and feet sweater in yoga…I don’t feel as Josie Grossie anymore!

I may or may not be buying a yoga towel…I like the idea of having a towel that fits my mat and is camouflaged…but Averie is right, a towel is a towel..just like you don’t need $50. yoga pants to do yoga, you don’t need a “yoga towel” to do it either…but I am intrigued by the idea!

Chocolate Cherry Coconut Energizer Smoothie

The Fitness Dish

8 ounces unsweetened almond milk
6 ounces {coconut}water
1/2-3/4 cup frozen organic cherries
1 small frozen banana
1 T raw cacao
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 T hemp seeds
1/2 T unsweetened coconut

Place all ingredients in a blender and blend on high until smooth. Enjoy!

Note: I use purified water mostly, but after a hard workout I will mix this with some plain coconut water to replenish my electrolytes and for some added potassium!

I WANTED to do my protein post today….but I am gathering my thoughts. Big posts take time for me..I tend to get long winded, so it takes me MORE time trying to cut something down and keep it short, while getting everything I want to say out there…so, I think I will save it for Monday since not as many peeps read the bloggy over the weekend…and tomorrow is FRIDAY FIVE 🙂

    Girl…I have chocolate for breakfast on a REGULAR basis. Thats whats up! I make a almond chocolate smoothie, or a chocolate mint type smoothie using Cacao powder and nibs. Lovd the cherry idea though! YUUUMMMY! SO sorry about your shirt!! I have totally had that happen to me a milliion times. It seems like it only happens to my favorite things though. For friday 5 I would love to see some at home excercise ideas that you can do without extra equipment. Things I can just do in my front room. Have a graet thursday!!!

    Heck yes for that smoothie. It looks way delicious!! I def wore that shirt yesterday to youth group, and we played indoor soccer. It is now a sweaty tshirt, so I think I may have ruined it as well!! Boo!! Thank goodness its only $8 at Target right? haha. Hope you can find another one!! Cant wait for the friday 5!

      yes, $8. at Target…went a few weeks ago to stock up b/c I love it so much, “just in case” something like this were to happen…and no more in my size, or in pink 🙁

    So sad about your favorite shirt — Stuff like that happens to stuff that borrow — a dress I borrowed from my sister got gum smushed all over it in the washing machine, a shirt I borrowed from my sister got black crud all over it (like your shirt) — its like my washing machine KNOWS to ruin stuff that isn’t mine! Ha!

    I love your smoothie — I had a delicious one for breakfast this morning too!

    Even though I know it’s not imperative to buy a yoga towel or $50 yoga pants, I can’t help but to browse and drool over the pants (though more like $100, hah) that I can’t actually buy. Why must everything be drawn back to high-priced fashion? That said, I have had a yogi-toes yoga towel in my Amazon shopping cart for the past week in case I decide to purchase it. For the Friday 5, what about 5 things you can do while you are getting ready in the morning? While brushing your teeth, getting dressed, etc. Would be a great energy boost for those of us that don’t usually work out first thing in the morning. 🙂

    Oh no that’s soo annoying about your t-shirt. I hate when that happens to clothes I like. Would love to know five exercises that you find effective for different body parts- like arms, legs etc. Can you believe Laury it’s nearly Friday? Where is the week going?

    Cheaper mats don’t always allow for great grip. Jade mats (which are located in conshy) are great or a product called yogi toes which is a non slip mat to go over yours.

    Do you want to go to the free class at lulu together on Sunday @ 10?

    Serious bummer about your T, I know that pain. And seriously, how does that happen in the wash sometimes?? I’ve had clothes turn up with those blackish kind of stains in purely white washes. Weird.

    I’m sorry about your shirt, and I feel like $50 for a towell is kind of intense. Nonetheless, if yoga is something you spend a lot of time doing, it’s actually probably a pretty good investment!

    I celebrated thirsty Thursday with a fresh juice (beets, carrots, ginger, & greens) AND a peanut butter & banana smoothie and maybe some wine tonight 🙂

    About the Functional Training study…I definitely agree with you that balance is important for functional training. I guess I would have to read the entire study because I’m not sure how they are defining Functional Training or how they tested it but to me, I definitely would think balance is important functionally. Although, I always thought we should also be working our hands and forearms in FIT class because I go to the gym and work my ass off but come home and can’t even open a jar! haha seriously…
