5 Fun Facts(?) about The Royal Wedding

1. William & Kate’s first dance will be to the song “Two Princes.

2. The birth rate in the U.K. is expected to spike by 190% in 2011, a common occurrence in years of Royal Weddings, World Cup victories, and moon landings.

3. William and Kate registered at, but their only item is a giant ornate fountain you can’t afford.

^not sure how true this one is.

Michael and I were wondering WHAT the heck you get a Prince & soon to be Princess for their wedding? We were talking about “GoodFellas” and all the “envelopes” they got at the wedding. Wondering what kind of envelopes Will and Kate will be getting 😉

4.  When Prince William and Kate finally walk down the aisle on April 29th. Kate will be 29, making her the oldest royal bride EVER. (Most royal brides in history have typically been teenagers. Even William’s mother, Princess Di, was barely 20 years old when she married his father, Prince Charles.) Although, according to statistics, this actually gives her a better chance at a longer future with William. Studies have shown that couple who marry closer to age 30 tend to divorce less than their younger counterparts.

5. Some homeless people got an invite as well. Prince William invited some guests who personally affected him in one way or another, including members of the homeless community and soldiers injured in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Crazy Royal Fashion

Princess Beatrice was Sporting the cooky looking hat as she arrived at The Royal wedding. ….

Was she serious????

Video of the Week

Kate looked STUNNING as she arrived at Westminster Abbey for her big day! Love the dress (may have even like Pippa’s even more!), so timeless and classic. I was a big dork and got a little choked up watching her walk down the aisle. Too bad Princess Diana was not there for this amazing event:

Did you guys catch The Royal Wedding?
What did you think of Kate’s gown?
Hopefully you see a baby tweet from me this weekend!
Make sure you are following on Twitter or Facebook for updates 🙂
Looks like Ella was not interested in The Royal Wedding at all. My fate of being born right before Princess Diana’s wedding 29 years ago was not one she wanted to share with me 🙁
I think Ella wants to be a May baby.
We will see!
Stay tuned!
Have a GREAT Weekend!

Great Friday Five girl!! I love anything about weddings, so this was a great post. I wish I was a blogger before I got married, these tips so would have helped me!! I had a horrid complexion on my wedding, good thing makeup did it’s job, but I was still self conscious the whole time! And I agree I thought she looked amazing. I only wish Diana could have been there. But, if you really do look at it, it is TOTALLY a fairytale come true 🙂

I love this Friday 5! Those are really interesting facts about them, especially the one regarding age. I think they were wise to wait – I don’t think I could get my head around being married before age 20! (In my circumstances anyway). That’s really interesting about the foods to eat for good skin – I do eat all of the ones you mentioned, but haven’t cut dairy out of my diet. I eat it in limited quantities – pretty much just yogurt and eggs, no cow’s milk or cheeses. Oh, and my protein powders are usually blends which contain whey in some form, and casein, so I guess that’s dairy there too…. Do you eat entirely dairy free? Did you notice a change in your complexion quite quickly?

I do not eat dairy-free, but VERY limited. I do not buy any dairy it’s more of “treat” foods when I am out. When I eat it though, like more of it than I should I break out like crazy!!!! I think there is something with the whey protein that is not as bad as drinking milk. The last nutrition course my teacher was lactose intolerant and was telling me he used some high quality whey and it was fine…don’t remember why so don’t quote me on that 😉

Those explosive planks look intense! I’ll have to try your workout.

I hope to see a picture of Baby Ella soon!!!

I’ve never heard that dairy is bad for breakouts/blemishes! Can you elaborate on why that is?

    April 30, 2011 at 10:24 am
    • Reply laury

I should write an entire post on that, I have written about dairy several times before, but to sum it up as far as breakouts go: Humans are not meant to consume cows milk (which is meant for baby calves. No, not everyone that drinks a glass of milk will break out. However, I do believe more people are allergic to it on some level and do not know it. A lot of allergies show up in your skin. Aside from that, there are hormones in milk. Yes, even organic milk. Cows produce hormones, and that can have an adverse effect on your skin. This is because one of the only things dermatologists can agree upon is that acne is definitely caused by an hormonal imbalance. Dairy is also thought to have excess iodine which can also be bad for your skin.

Again, that doesn’t mean it will effect you if you have one piece of cheese, but if you are susceptible to breakouts it may be smart to avoid dairy. I did an experiment on myself. I do not have a dairy allergy, but know that I am sensitive. I stopped eating it completely for 2 weeks and once i had it again my skin did break out. I can have a little here and there but when I have an excess amount, which most Americans do since it’s in EVERYTHING..there can be issues.

here are other posts about dairy:

Wow, thank you so much. I’m not 100% vegan, more like part time. But I’ve been struggling with break outs for years, so I think I’ll try a little dairy-free experiment of my own. Thanks again for the wonderful response to my question!

Great post, loved watching the royal wedding. Like yourself I preferred Pippa’s dress, that’s the dress that I’d like to wear to my future wedding. Funny my mom had a royal wedding party at home and all her friends got dressed up and my sister who lives over in England sent them over cheesy royal pictures, table mats, oven gloves, apron etc.
